Chapter 12 Bluebell, My Goddess
Everyone knew that the famous voice actress Bluebell had come to do voiceovers. Most of the company's employees were crowded around the recording studio.
"Cut!"
As the director shouted to stop, Bluebell walked out of the recording studio. At that moment, Bohr played the recorded sound over the speakers.
As the sound played, everyone could immediately imagine the movie scenes.
The portrayal of the sound was simply a divine presence as if it was not just crafted but the character's original voice instead.
When the sound ended, the group did not even react.
After a moment, Caine was the first to applaud.
Following his lead, a wave of applause erupted.
"Bluebell, you are truly the world's best voice actor. I'm so crazy about you."
"Bluebell, my goddess, let me worship you!"
"Bluebell, you are not human. You are a goddess, the goddess of sound."
"Bluebell, you are the chosen one."
The enthusiastic atmosphere also ignited Marjorie, and she realized that achieving something was a happy thing.
"Congratulations on returning to the stage."
Caine reached out and shook Marjorie's hand. At that moment, he also understood why Marjorie said she had never given up on the stage.
In fact, she could excel in any field.
"Thank you, Mr. Caine."
Marjorie let out a vibrant smile as she accepted her teacher's praise.
"Where did everyone go?"
At this moment, an unfriendly voice was heard. Everyone turned to see the popular actress, Carolyn.
It was her assistant who had spoken.
The receptionist, Tissa, walked over and asked, "Ms. Carolyn, why are you here?"
"Oh, is Ms. Carolyn not allowed to be here? Is your film company that big now?"
The assistant flared her nostrils, perfectly imitating Carolyn.
"Ms. Carolyn, it's not like that. Please come this way, the director will be here soon."
Albert was in the recording studio chatting with Caine. He still hoped that Caine could persuade Bluebell to accept his advice and return to film and television instead of working behind the scenes.
"Albert, I will certainly try to persuade her, but you know that ultimately the decision to enter the industry lies in the hands of the actors themselves. We can't interfere too much. Besides, her identity is not suitable for public appearances right now."
"That's true, but Mr. Caine, you..."
Before Albert could finish his sentence, the receptionist hurriedly approached. "Mr. Albert, Ms. Carolyn is here."
Why was Carolyn here? They did not have a shoot that day!
That was the case, but he quickly headed over. After all, Carolyn was a big star, and if he did not treat her well, the lead role in the new film might be in jeopardy.
"Ms. Bluebell, thank you for gracing us with your presence!"
Albert looked at Bluebell with a feeling of regret and left. When he arrived at the office and saw Carolyn, he quickly greeted her with a kiss on her hand.
"Mr. Albert, do you know why I'm here?!" Carolyn raised her proud head, looking at the director.
"Ms. Carolyn, you're kidding. Even if you didn't come to me, I would have visited you. The only role left for the new movie was the lead, and we had a late-night meeting last night. You got the lead role, Jenny."
In truth, during the meeting last night, Albert kept thinking of Bluebell even though everyone was recommending Carolyn. He knew that if she were to act in the movie, even as a supporting role, it would significantly boost the box office sales, not to mention her exceptional acting skills.
But, alas, she refused to act!
Considering his alternative, it was indeed a major disappointment for an accomplished director.
"When will the announcement be made? We've been receiving numerous offers for Carolyn's appearances lately. If it weren't for the excellent script you have this time, we wouldn't have come today."
Upon hearing that the decision was made, Carolyn's assistant's confidence surged.
Downstairs, Bluebell had already re-recorded the two short segments as per Caine's suggestions.
After bidding farewell to everyone after finishing the recordings, she was about to leave.
However, to her surprise, when she reached the lobby, Carolyn on an upper floor had spotted her.
"Why is she here?"
Albert followed Carolyn's gaze. "You know Bluebell?"
"Are you saying she's Bluebell?"
Everyone in the film industry knew Bluebell. Many actors wanted her to do voiceovers for them, and Carolyn was one of them. However, she remained a mystery, and it was said that no one knew who Bluebell really was. There was no information about her online.
"Yes, she's the voice actress we recently signed for our company. Ms. Caroyln, do you know her?"
Albert spoke with pride whenever he mentioned Bluebell as if signing her had elevated their film company several notches.
Carolyn then recalled that a few days ago, there was a trending topic online about Bluebell doing the voiceover for a new film.
"I don't know her. She just looks like a friend of mine." Carolyn said with a sense of disappointment. She had been working in the film industry for years, but Bluebell had become a hot topic shortly after her debut, making Carolyn feel inadequate.
One of the sweetest things in the world is making the mistress aware of her inferiority.
Marjorie had accomplished that.
"Mr. Albert, I'm not feeling well. I'll leave now."
Without waiting for Albert's response, she left. Even her assistant was slow to react.
Carolyn rushed downstairs as Marjorie was heading toward her car.
"Marjorie!"
Hearing her name, Marjorie turned to see Carolyn.
"I'm not sure whether to call you Bluebell or Marjorie."
Carolyn rushed over and nearly tripped.
"Carolyn, you better watch your step. If you trip and the paparazzi catch it, tomorrow's headlines will read 'Carolyn Rushing on the Road, Accidentally Slips and Falls!'"
"Are you trying to insult me?" Carolyn retorted angrily.
"Is there anyone else here except you? People should have more self-awareness," Marjorie said with disdain, but her tone cheerful.
"Are you not afraid that I'll reveal your identity as Bluebell to Stephen?" Carolyn asked.
"Well, you can go ahead. Perhaps he'd be happy because of it. After all, Bluebell is a famous voice actor. My influence might even surpass yours."
Marjorie looked at the infuriated Carolyn and felt quite satisfied.
"Furthermore, there's one more thing. Stephen knows my true identity. You should also be aware of who the majority shareholder of this film company is."
With that, Marjorie got into her Ferrari.
"Aren't you afraid I'll expose your identity to the public?" Carolyn looked at the smug Marjorie, her anger unabated.
"Feel free to do so, but don't blame me for not warning you. Legally, I am still his wife, and you are the mistress."
Marjorie opened her car window, not even bothering to look at Carolyn. She said softly, "Ah, what's even going on? Even the mistress is being so loud."
Marjorie drove away, leaving behind an agitated Carolyn.
