Chapter 50: Agreeing to Meet
Amia's actions had left Jonia quite upset. "I can't believe you. You're so exhausted and still don't realize that when your grandmother arrives in San Diego, George won't be able to keep up the lie about your divorce."
Jonia voiced her frustration, but then Amia went to bring her grandmother out, forcing Jonia to swallow her anger. After all, it wouldn't be appropriate to show such anger in front of the grandmother at this time.
"Jonia, Brook, it's been so long! You've both grown so handsome and beautiful," Amia's grandmother said as she came out, praising the two.
"Thank you, Grandma. We've missed you too. Once you're feeling better, we'll take you out for a stroll," Jonia responded, but then gave Amia a cold look as if to say that Amia wasn't considering their feelings at all.
Meanwhile, Steve had just attended Arlia's wedding and was on his way back to San Diego. As he was leaving, he spotted a familiar figure by the roadside—it was Amia. Steve was surprised to see her there.
