Chapter 47: Postponing the Divorce
Due to the pain and illness, Grandma's condition wasn’t good. She spoke weakly, and her overall demeanor was low in spirits, which made Amia feel deeply distressed. Seeing her once lively grandmother in such a state, Amia didn’t know what to do.
"Don’t worry, granddaughter, I’m feeling much better now. By the way, where’s your husband?" Grandma asked, glancing behind Amia as if expecting to see him. Amia didn’t know how to explain because the man Grandma referred to as her husband was planning to divorce her today.
"Grandma, how about this? You come with me to San Diego, and we can see him there. He’s been busy lately, so he hasn’t been able to visit," Amia suggested, hoping to get her grandmother to a better hospital in San Diego.
"That sounds good, but my health isn’t great, so I’m not sure if I can handle the trip," Grandma said with a faint smile. Amia, however, was already worried about how she would ask George to play along and pretend for her grandmother. It was a troublesome
