Chapter 14: Enduring Hardship for Money

Steve casually asked, "Is it your husband coming to pick you up?" Amia was taken aback for a moment but didn't pay much attention. After all, she didn't even know where her husband was, or whether he was alive or dead. Since Amia didn’t respond, Steve assumed she was agreeing. When Robert pulled the car up outside the estate, Amia got out and said to Steve, "Goodbye, Mr. President." Steve gave a slight nod and then said coldly, "Take the stuff out of the trunk. You can throw it away if you want." Amia opened the trunk and saw it was filled with luxury gifts. She was surprised that the gifts meant for Steve's wife hadn't been given to her. Curious, Amia asked, "Mr. President, why didn’t you give these gifts to your wife?" Steve, looking indifferent, replied, "You don't need to worry about that. Take the stuff and do whatever you want with it. It’s none of my business." Amia assumed Steve and his wife were having a disagreement and hesitantly said, "Mr. President, you love your wi
