317 THE LION'S KITTEN
Luka looked around carefully before slipping into the abandoned garage. Their plans had changed, so he had to adjust.
"You Linamarin’s your parents, like, stupid rich or something?"
He lit the cigarette their leader, Ben, had handed him before responding. "Yeah, so?"
"So why do you need to rob a bank? It's not like you need the money or something."
"Shut it! Jon." The leader barked, and everyone went silent except for the voice in Luka's head.
Why was he part of a gang that planned to infiltrate and rob a bank when he didn't need the money? What was he getting out of this?
"You said you were how old again?" Ben suddenly addressed him, "I'm currently seventeen. I will be eighteen in six months."
"Lucky ya!" One of the men yelled, "Means if we catch you, you only get to go to jail." They all laughed, except Ben.
"Did you bring the gun?" He asked again, and Luka nodded, raising his backpack as he pulled out the wrapped-up bag and briefly recalled how Emerald had almost caught him
