The waiter returned to their table with a bottle of wine and two glass cups. He opened and filed their glasses halfway.
"Thank you," Madison said to him before she left.
"So how have you been?" Ethan said and took a sip of his wine.
"You've asked me that question multiple times Ethan. How else do you want me to answer it? I've been good. After everything I got a new place, went to therapy, started judo to control and let out all that anger. These past months, it's been work, home, judo lessons, the club from time to time."
"The club?" Ethan said meekly, which caused Madison to smile.
"Yes, the club. Do you wanna know what I did there?"
"No," Ethan said quickly. He knew whatever she was going to say could ruin this dinner. "All of that is in the past; I asked you to dinner because I wanted to spend time with you."
