A grimace contorted Cyrus’s face. ‘Harper... things haven’t exactly been sunshine and rainbows between us after I married Alyson.’
‘Oh, come on, Cy,’ Sebastian scoffed. ‘It’s been, what, ten years? Surely, a little grovelling can’t hurt.’
‘You don’t understand, Seb. Harper barely speaks to me, and let’s not forget she works for Elodie. You think she wouldn’t breathe a word to Elodie if I called her for a loan?’
Sebastian threw his hands up in exasperation. ‘So, what do we do then? We can’t just sit here twiddling our thumbs while Ari’s attack dogs sniff us out! This place smells like a landfill, and it’s giving me one hell of a headache.’
Cyrus rubbed his temples. ‘I don’t know, Seb. Maybe we should’ve just stayed. At least Ari’s men gave us decent food.’
