Gabriel and Oliver walked in silence, each lost in their own thoughts.
Gabriel glanced over at his brother, noting the faraway look in his eyes.
‘Hey, you okay?’ he asked, nudging Oliver lightly.
Oliver blinked, snapping out of his reverie.
‘Yeah, sorry,’ he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. ‘Just thinking.’
‘Anything you want to talk about?’
There was a long pause before Oliver finally shook his head. ‘Nah, it’s nothing.’
Gabriel didn’t pry.
Oliver had always been somewhat of a closed book.
‘Come on, let’s get some food in you. You look like you are starving.’ Gabriel took hold of Oliver’s elbow.
‘I can walk by myself,’ Oliver protested.
‘I know, but I promised to keep an eye on you before Ellie wakes up. That means you are not getting out of my sight for even a second.’
