I wasn’t sure if dredging up the painful past, reopening old wounds was a good idea. But then, I still wanted you to know the truth, so...’ Elodie nodded, processing the information. ‘You made the right call, Miriam. I’m glad you sent me the email. I tried calling you right after I got it, but your phone must have been switched off.’ Miriam gave an embarrassed laugh. ‘Not exactly. I was dodging your calls, to be honest. I wasn’t sure what to tell you. I felt awful – you’re the CEO of Northstar now, with so many responsibilities and such a busy schedule.
