For a moment, Elodie simply stared out at the vast expanse of water before them, seemingly lost in thought.
‘What about your mom? Did Miriam ever meet my parents?’
Dashiell shook his head. ‘No, I don’t think so. At least, she never mentioned it to me.’
Elodie took a shaky breath before continuing. ‘Has your mother ever been to Mgomba before?’
Dashiell nodded slowly. ‘Yes, she has visited here in the past.’
He thought back to her call urging him to come on this trip.
She’d waxed poetic about Mgomba’s beauty and mentioned visiting years ago.
After he’d arrived, Miriam had even sent Dashiell photos from her past trips, marking scenic spots to woo a woman.
She’d also provided brochures for neighbouring countries, knowing Elodie’s love of travel.
