Cecilia tried to pull back her arm with all her might, but the power difference between men and women was inherent. Her movements in Alston's eyes were negligible.
She felt sorry for Gladys and gritted her teeth, saying, "Am I wrong? Alston, just because I set you up, does that give you the right to be so cruel to Gladys? She doesn't understand anything. Aren't you ashamed when you hurt her?"
