"Today's medicine is properly administered, just so you feel assured. It's not about saving face for anyone, Cecilia. It's about you having your way," Alston remarked, prompting Cecilia to suddenly exhale with relief.
She licked her lips and squeezed out a bit of ointment, applying it gently to Alston's slightly flushed face. His cheeks, originally burning, were soothed by the cool touch of the ointment, almost instantly alleviating his discomfort.
Alston squinted his eyes. Cecilia's movements were deft, and in no time she had applied the medicine to the wounds on his face.
