42 Mystery
Alejandro’s POV
The question nagged at my heart for so long I felt it was biting down on my sanity. What was the use of me being in this world if the one person I loved the most could not happily call her mine if, in her dead state, she was given the chance to access how I had turned out after her death?
Marilyn sat by my side and through the side of my eye, I saw her move her hands towards me and withdraw it. She repeated this process for about three times before dropping her hands by her side and sitting still. Was I that intimidating that even Marilyn had to think twice before placing a hand on my shoulder to console me during a hard time? Maybe I had to change for real this time and for good.
I placed an arm on Marilyn’s shoulder and I could visibly see and feel the tension that shot through her entire body at my touch. She looked up at me and with a shocking glance and a nervous smile, apprehended me.
“Tell me, Marilyn,” I began. “Do I scare you?”
“Well…” she stamm
