Chapter 8
Maverick's body tensed up a bit as he glanced down at Giselle, who was getting a little wild on him. But he didn't put a stop to it.
Giselle grew bolder and bolder, climbing onto his lap and teasingly nibbling on his Adam's apple like a playful kitten.
"Rick," Gloria cooed on the phone, "Aww, dear... I miss you so much... I just want this game to end quickly!"
Maverick pinched Giselle's waist and kneaded it gently but firmly. "Be good. After my grandpa's birthday, I'll visit you."
"Okay, great!" Gloria finally sounded happy. "Then you must come!"
"Heh!" Maverick chuckled lightly. "Silly girl, when have I ever let you down?"
Giselle's kisses became more and more reckless, and her hand had already reached towards the man's pants, ready to slip inside.
Maverick held Giselle's hand and spoke calmly, "Gloria, you gotta hit the hay early tonight, alright? Don't make me worry about you."
"Okay, Rick. Goodnight."
Gloria obediently hung up the phone.
Maverick tossed his phone aside and pushed Giselle down onto the couch. "Looks like I need to teach you a lesson!"
His voice was hoarse, brimming with a fierce longing to claim her.
Giselle curled up her lips and laughed wickedly.
She intentionally rubbed her leg against him and asked, "Wanna try?"
How would Maverick be easily seduced by her?
He got up to grab his phone and sent Gloria a goodnight text.
Feeling disappointed, Giselle straightened her clothes and sarcastically quipped, "I never expected you would be so gentle."
Her tone was so sarcastic.
Maverick ignored her.
Giselle was great in every way, beautiful and wild in bed. But unfortunately, she couldn't seem to find her place in the relationship.
"You should go now." Maverick was getting annoyed and a bit impatient.
Giselle raised an eyebrow and got up expressionlessly.
She had long been accustomed to Maverick's attitude, anyway.
His passion for her would be always for sexual activities but not in any other aspects.
She was well aware of her relationship with Maverick, and she would not be like those foolish young girls who cried, schemed, and yearned for true love.
She and Maverick could maintain their relationship for so long precisely because she understood her boundaries.
Before leaving, Giselle cleaned up the room very neatly, leaving no traces behind.
But even after Giselle left, Maverick called for a cleaning lady to come and thoroughly disinfect the whole house.
It was not like he had germaphobia or anything, but every time Giselle came over, he had to clean up everything before he could relax...
Giselle was already expecting Harrison's call to come so soon.
On the phone, Harrison was furious and extremely irritable. "Come to the hospital quickly!"
Giselle just came out of Violet Country Villa, and her legs were a bit sore.
She was annoyed, yet she eventually got into her car and drove toward the hospital.
After all, she could tell that Harrison was really angry.
The Hawk family had more than one daughter. What if she really annoyed him and he decided not to leave her any inheritance?
She didn't want to end up like her mother, who had lost so badly.
When she arrived at the hospital, it was almost noon. Giselle was taking her sweet time, making Harrison wait until he was practically turning blue in the face.
He was filled with anger, but he held it in because Mr. and Mrs. Canfield were there and it wouldn't be appropriate to lose his temper.
Davina was enjoying the situation and didn't even bother to hide the sarcasm written all over her face.
Giselle entered the hospital room with an emotionless expression.
When she attacked Vincent, she already expected that this would happen and was prepared to face the consequences.
She was surprised to find that not only were Mr. and Mrs. Canfield not angry, but they were also surprisingly enthusiastic, which caught her off guard.
"Giselle, have you eaten yet? Vincent has been waiting for you, saying he won't eat until he sees you."
The way they treated her made Giselle's heart skip a beat.
As she looked at Vincent, she caught him giving her a creepy grin, as if he was certain of his victory.
Giselle felt so disgusted that she was about to vomit. She turned around and was about to leave.
Harrison's cold, stern face stopped her in her tracks, "You're not a kid anymore. It's time to talk about marriage. Mr. Canfield and I have already discussed it. When Vincent is out of the hospital, we'll set a date and finalize your relationship."
