Chapter 5
Maverick sat in the far corner and held a cigarette. His eyes were unfathomable, making it impossible to discern his emotions.
He acted as if he had not heard what the person said.
The crowd suddenly understood.
Everyone in the room got the attitude of Maverick towards Giselle.
Just a plaything.
But no matter what, Giselle was a woman who had slept with Maverick.
Plus, after the last time when Giselle showed off on her social media, no one could guess what was going on in Maverick's mind.
But men, after all, could not tolerate their women cheating.
Maverick remained silent, leaving the others uncertain of his stance, so they had no choice but to continue chatting.
"Are you sure it's Giselle? With her small frame, won't Vincent crush her to death?"
"It's definitely her, no mistaking it. And with her tiny waist, there's no second one in the whole Finceland."
"Hey, your eyes are sharp. Have you touched her before?"
"Hah! More than that, I've even fucked her in my dreams!"
On such occasions, there were naturally many vulgar words.
But when the target of the conversation was Giselle, the implications were different.
The people who knew the truth remained silent, secretly observing Maverick's reaction.
After all, they were also curious about how important was Giselle in Maverick's heart.
To put it bluntly, there were many men present who had long lusted after Giselle.
They were all waiting for Maverick to break up with Giselle so they could take over and continue having fun with her.
That was right, just for fun.
After all, no one would develop genuine feelings for a notorious cripple.
The crowd waited for a long time until Maverick finally put out his cigarette and got up.
"Excuse me, I'm going to the restroom."
His voice was quite flat, without any emotion.
It was as if he really was just going to the restroom.
As soon as Maverick stepped out of the door, he heard a loud noise coming from the adjacent private room.
Vincent let out a cry of pain, followed by a furious roar, "Giselle! I'll kill you for this!"
He appeared at the door calmly with a flat tone, "Who do you want to kill?"
Vincent stumbled out of the room, blood pouring down his face. He was stunned to see Maverick.
No one in the entire Finceland dared to oppose Maverick, at least not yet.
Originally, the people on Vincent's side were going to teach Giselle a lesson, but now that Maverick had arrived, everyone immediately fell silent.
After all, there were rumors that Maverick was about to marry Giselle's sister, Gloria, and become her brother-in-law.
After being taken away by Maverick, Giselle got in the car and bit the man's arm with a grievance.
She was gently biting, not applying any force.
After venting her emotions, she said with a hint of grievance, "Why didn't you answer my calls? I almost got into trouble here today."
Maverick drove the car and ignored her.
Giselle sat back with a pout, looking out the window. "I'm angry, you have to make it up to me."
"Just mention." Maverick stared straight ahead with his tone flat.
He never hesitated to solve things that could be settled with money.
"Let's take down Blossom Avenue." Giselle said bluntly, "I want it."
Blossom Avenue was a high-end chain flower shop that was quite well-known.
Maverick chuckled lightly, "Do you think I can give you something from the Hawk family?"
Giselle looked at him steadily and said, "Yup."
After a pause, she added, "As long as you want to, you can give me anything."
The man curled his lips and smiled coldly, "One million, just take it or leave it."
"Deal!" Giselle's voice was light and cheerful as if nothing had happened.
Indeed, money talks.
Maverick's eyes were filled with mockery. "I'll give you the check tomorrow."
Giselle sat back in satisfaction, already planning how to spend the money in her mind.
Maverick dropped Giselle off outside the Hawk family and drove away without a word.
As soon as Giselle stepped into her house, she saw Davina glaring at her fiercely as if she wanted to tear her apart.
"Why did you bother coming back after fooling around for so long?"
Giselle waved her way up the stairs and retorted, "If not home, then where?"
Davina glared at Giselle, looking for trouble, "What a b*tch. Why don't you just live in a man's bed?"
Giselle chuckled lightly, turned back and took a step forward, "How did you know? I just got off your future son-in-law's bed."
Davina's face changed dramatically, "You!!! Shameless! How could Maverick possibly be interested in the trash like you?!”
"Liking or not is up to him, whether I'm good or bad." Giselle coquettishly played with her hair. "Maybe he just has a taste for someone like me."
More than just his type.
She had long since worn out his bed with her constant presence.
