Chapter 3

Giselle didn't reply to that comment. She exited the app, and went upstairs to change clothes. Giselle was an absolute stunner, with an exceptional figure and striking features. It was so irresistible that it left people completely captivated. Unfortunately, she was lame on one foot. To hid it, she only wear long dress. Especially for long, flowing dresses with delicate spaghetti straps. It revealed her slender arms and graceful neck.  As she walked, the swaying dress hem could distract others from her limp. As Davina watched her come down the stairs, she couldn't help but feel envious of her stunning beauty. She was jealous that her own daughter Gloria would becoma a Wallflower whenever Giselle was there. "Humph. Are you trying to lure some men by dressing like a stripper?" The living room was empty. No wonder Davina took off her "Kind Stepmother" mask. Paying her no heed, Giselle strode toward the door. "Stop there!" Davina roared in anger. "Thinking yourself something special, huh? You're nothing but trash that no one wants except for the Canfield family. Who else would like you? And yet you have the nerve to reject a marriage proposal. How utterly shameless!" Giselle quirked a sarcastic smile, her eyes were icy glint. "I think you may sell off your daughter to the Canfield family since Canfields are so wonderful!" "You!!!" Davina fumed, her finger pointed squarely at Giselle as she cursed. "Bah! You are totally incomparable to Gloria! She is the future Mrs. Hyland!" "Fine," Giselle replied.  Her face was devoid of emotion as she left. "Let's wait until she's actually married into the family." Ignoring the curses behind her, Giselle drove straight to the Hyland Group. Little did she expect that Maverick would return so early. When she pushed open the door to the CEO's office, he was already seated inside. As he heard the sound of footsteps, Maverick slowly raised his head with a slight frown. "Who have you managed to buy off this time?"  Giselle laughed lightly and swayed over, sitting on his lap coyly and wrapping her arms around his neck. "You know very well that your people are all crafty and sly. Plus, with our relationship, how could they stand in my way?" Maverick gazed at her but said nothing. Their relationship was meant to remain concealed from the public, yet she made no effort to keep it under wraps. Whenever they had sex in the office, she felt like moaning at the top of her lungs, wanting the whole company to hear them. She was a total slut, with no signs of holding back. Maverick hooked his arm around Giselle's waist. His voice was low and his smile wicked. "You're here so early. You want more?"  Giselle pursed her lips, looking somewhat aggrieved. "Humph... You were so rough last night... I thought you were going to break my waist."  The man didn't say anything. His eyes fixed on her as if urging her to keep talking. He had a good understanding of Giselle. The fact that she gave up her good sleep this morning to seek him out could only mean that there was something else on her mind. Giselle cast her gaze downward and playfully fiddled Maverick's collar. She then spoke in a flirtatious tone. "My stepmother wants me to marry Vincent..."  "Sounds good," Maverick replied calmly. "He wouldn't dare to lay a finger on you." "What do you mean sounds good?" Giselle lightly punched his chest. "I don't want to end up becoming a widow at such a young age!"  Maverick grasped her hand and began to gently knead it. His eyes were tracing over her long hair. Giselle's waist-length hair, which was black and shiny, had been well-maintained with great care. The moment he laid eyes on her at the Hawk family, he was instantly drawn to the allure of her hair. He could still vividly recall that night. Giselle was wearing a red velvet dress, leaned on the terrace of the Hawk family villa, and stared at him. As a soft breeze swept by, it blew her black beautiful hair. At that time, Giselle was as beautiful as a fairy. She had him enchanted in a heartbeat. Maverick smiled cunningly. He pinched Giselle's chin and spoke in a hoarse voice, "Beg me then. Who knows, maybe I can satisfy you in the future." Giselle smiled. "Why not just marry me then?" Without a word, Maverick paused for a moment before pushing Giselle away. His gaze turned cold. Giselle couldn't stand firm and bumped her lower back into the corner of the table, causing her face to turn pale with pain. Maverick glared at her without any warmth, "You are not allowed to be here if you say that again." When Giselle left the Hyland Group, she looked quite disheveled. She was already exhausted last night and her waist was sore. The recent collision made it necessary for her to support her waist while walking. At the hospital, she lay on the hospital bed, wearing a patient gown that exposed her smooth back. Behind her, a hand held a cotton swab and dipped it in the ointment on her wound. "Ah!" Giselle yelled in pain, "You heartless woman! Be gentle!"
