A suffocating silence descended upon the interrogation room after Tiago's chilling monologue. His words hung heavy in the air, a web of manipulation that had effectively entangled Jose.
Jose slumped in his chair, his face a mask of defeat. His bravado, his accusations, all dissolved under the weight of Tiago's calculated cruelty.
Two minutes crawled by, each tick of the clock echoing the hollowness of Jose's hope. Finally, he spoke, his voice barely a whisper. "But what, Mr. Fernandez?" Charles prompted, a hint of suspicion lacing her voice.
Jose swallowed hard, his gaze darting towards Tiago once more. "I'll only speak… if I’m allowed to speak to Mr. Alarcão alone."
Detective Charles's brow furrowed. "Alone?" He echoed, his voice sharp. "Mr. Fernandez, this concerns the substandard drugs—"
