Mariana and Simon found themselves in a discord of colour and scent. The bustling vegetable market was a sensory overload, overflowing with an astonishing array of produce they rarely encountered in their well-curated grocery deliveries.
Hesitation hung heavy in the air as they approached each stall, their designer sunglasses doing little to shield them from the unfamiliar abundance. Their privileged backgrounds, accustomed to pre-washed perfection, left them woefully unprepared for the task of selecting vegetables.
"Do you think we need more... leafy things?" Simon ventured, his voice barely audible over the rhythmic shouts of vendors. He gingerly held up a bunch of kale, its rough texture a stark contrast to the manicured lawns of his suburban estate.
