Chapter 47: The Absurdity Of Memories
Mike arrived about an hour and a half after his call, right on time for once. As soon as I heard the knock on the door, a mix of excitement and nervousness filled me. Jason opened the door with a broad smile.
"Mike! Right on time," Jason greeted him, giving him a friendly hug.
"Hey, man. Good to see you," Mike replied, returning the hug. Then he turned to me, extending his hand. "You must be Lily. Jason's told me a lot about you."
"Nice to finally meet you, Mike," I said, shaking his hand warmly. "I've heard a lot about you too."
As we exchanged pleasantries, Jason couldn’t resist a playful jab. "This is the only time you’ve ever kept to time, Mike."
They both laughed, and Mike shot back, "Well, at least you can't say I'm always late anymore."
Jason shook his head, chuckling. "True, true. Come on in. Dinner’s ready, and we’ve got a lot of catching up to do."
