Chapter 147: Grace’s First Birthday
The morning sun peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow across our bedroom. I stretched and turned to find Jason already awake, smiling down at me.
“Good morning, birthday girl’s mom,” he said softly, kissing my forehead.
“Good morning,” I replied, my heart swelling with excitement and love. “Can you believe it? Our little Grace is turning one today.”
Jason nodded, his eyes filled with warmth. “Time flies. It feels like just yesterday we brought her home from the hospital.”
We both lay there for a moment, reflecting on the incredible journey of the past year. The sleepless nights, the first smiles, the tentative steps—all leading up to this special day.
“Let’s go see the birthday girl,” I said, getting out of bed.
We made our way to Grace’s room, where she was just waking up. As soon as she saw us, her face lit up with a big, toothy grin.
“Good morning, Grace!” I sang, lifting her out of the crib. “Happy birthday, my sweet girl!” Jason joined us, ruffling her dark curls
