Chapter 13: Shadows of Doubt
[Donald’s POV]
I recounted the troubling situation to Elliot, watching as a shadow crossed his face, his brow furrowed with deep concern.
“We’re stretched too thin,” Elliot said grimly, crossing his arms over his chest. “We don’t have enough manpower to make adequate arrangements. We need reinforcements.”
“I think so too,” I agreed, my tone heavy with worry. “We need to gather more warriors from the pack. We can’t handle this alone.”
Elliot’s eyes darkened with uncertainty as he asked, “Are we seriously going to fight here?”
I understood his hesitation. The Silver Moon Pack, though noble, was a small and fragile community. If we left, they might be spared the enemy’s wrath, but if we stayed and the battle found us here, the losses could be catastrophic. The terrain around the Silver Moon Pack was ill-suited for combat. Their camp was modest, lacking the open space needed for large-scale battle formations. The surrounding forest, dense and wild, offered little in the way of tactica
