Lorn, his father, Crael, and a few warriors tried to keep his mother in the middle of them, in case of an attack. She was having none of it. Ma kept getting in front of them and telling them to follow her. As the men hurried to keep up with her she was muttering something about them being slower than a turtle. His father shook his head and hurried his pace. Crael asked, "Why did you all not shift?"
Lorn shrugged, "Beats me. I am sure Ma has some reason or she is just too excited. I wonder what she is talking about?"
Crael was quiet for a few moments and Lorn knew he was talking with Lorna. They had heard nothing from any of the packs since yesterday when everyone went into hiding. It was the only thing they could do to preserve their species and keep it from being eradicated. Finally, Crael spoke, "Your sister is well. The two packs are still hiding, in the caves, beyond the waterfall. It seems they have a new friend, a demon that was saved by the young warlock."
