This Time it's Real

(Camilla’s POV) “Hahaha! You were so cheesy.” “You're embarrassing me.” The laughter and chatter of Jamaica and her husband fills the air as we finish dinner. JM beams at me, his eyes sparkling. I’m happy to see him having the healthy family that he deserves. “Do you want some desserts?” I asked the young boy who is now watching his parents tease each other in the kitchen. “Yes, please!” he chirped. I took a small slice of the cake and put it on a clean plate. He happily took it and smiled at me. “I’m so glad that you joined us for dinner today,” he said. I gently pat his head. “I just wished Uncle Kalel was here to join us, too.” I gave him a small smile. Kalel is busy with his affairs as a mayor. It’s really hard to find free time for him now.
