Chapter 31: Not Another Alpha
"Kasim, don't joke." I chuckled and moved his hand away from my waist.
"What are you doing here so late?" Kasim didn't say anything else, which left me with a good impression of him. He joked in moderation and made people feel comfortable.
"Looking for my necklace. I think I left it on the mountain road." I aimed the flashlight at my feet to make sure it wasn't there. "It's a moon-shaped one. I don't know if you've seen it."
Kasim thought for a moment, then smiled again. The shallow dimples in his cheeks made me want to poke them with my fingers.
"I'll join you to find it," Kasim said. Then he bent down and ran his hands over the grass, not caring that it was dirty.
"What about you? What are you doing in the middle of nowhere?" I asked, hoping there was something I could do to help Kasim.
"I'm here on a treasure hunt," Kasim said. He stood up, took the flashlight from my hand, and showed me the way.
There was no light just now, so I didn't see Kasim's face clearly. Now, with the light
