Chapter 18 The Baby
Amanda fell to the floor, her face all scrunched up as she cried hysterically.
Seeing this, Sheila shook her head and said bitterly, "Your family spoiled you too much. They refused to teach you how to behave properly, and that led to this!"
Amanda continued to wail noisily. I ignored them and silently watched the entrance to the surgical theater, hoping that Louis would be alright.
When the light outside the surgical theater went off, my eyes lit up. I quickly said to the two women, "Quiet. The surgery's over."
Sheila quickly stopped talking. She signaled the bodyguards with a flick of her hand, motioning for them to drag Amanda off. Then, she glanced at me without saying anything.
We both understood the situation between us, so there was no need for words. We came from entirely different social spheres, and we didn't have a close-knit relationship. At best, you could say we respected each other.
When the doctor appeared, we both hurried forward. "How is he?"
