Chapter 20
SUZIE’S POV
Asher parked the car the moment we were in front of the pack house, and before I stepped out of the car, I saw Roy, Blair and Felix run out of the house. They all stood at the front door, watching me intently as I slipped out of the car.
I wiped the remnants of the tears that had plastered itself to my cheeks and I could see how their faces contoured with worry. They all snapped their eyes to Asher, who had come out of the car. They seemed to stare at each other for a few seconds, like they were silently communicating with each other.
I ignored it however, and walked up to the front door.
“How are you?”
“Are you hurt?”
“What did that bastard do to you? I’ll make him pat.”
I was bombarded with questions from each brother and I was not in the mood to respond. I did not want to think about any of it.
I felt a hand on my waist and turned to see Asher standing beside me.
“Can you all give her some breathing space? I’m sure she’s tired and needs to rest.”
“Oh yeah, you’re right,”
