Chapter 155: Sophia, I've Been Holding Back
The morning light had yet to break through the thick fog.
Beneath her heavy eyelids, Sophia's eyes rolled as she struggled against the pain enveloping her body.
Summoning all her strength, she slowly opened her eyes.
The familiar scent of disinfectant filled her nose as she took in the sight of the hospital room's white ceiling.
She realized she was at the hospital.
Turning her head, she noticed Benjamin's head.
He was clutching her left hand tightly. His handsome face was pressed against her skin as he slept soundly.
"Benjamin..."
Sophia tried to speak, but her voice was hoarse.
And her hand was numb.
She frowned in pain. The only part of her that still felt normal was rendered senseless by his weight.
She tried to gently pull her hand away.
Benjamin's eyes shot open, revealing an abyss devoid of light.
Sophia froze.
She didn't mean to wake him up.
Benjamin blinked and fixed his eyes on Sophia.
They locked their eyes with each other.
