Izaak didn’t seem in a hurry when he drove to the hospital. Gabriella sat quietly on the front passenger seat, picturing in her head the probable scenes that could happen. Nevertheless, she still prayed Este would be alright.
When they got to the hospital, Este had passed the critical stage, but the worst was yet to come. She had several fractures as well as soft tissue contusions. Her most significant injury was a cornea laceration, which rendered her blind. Gabriella couldn't help but feel terrible for Este when she observed her condition.
“Doc, will my daughter be able to see the world again?” Margarita sobbed as she asked the doctor. Her face was haggard, distressed with worry.
“Mrs. Brown, please calm down. There is still hope. If we perform a corneal transplant as soon as possible, she’ll be able to regain her eyesight.”
