Chapter 193
Izaak watched as Gabriella’s frail and sorrowful figure disappeared into the distance. His heart throbbed with pain, and his legs moved subconsciously to chase Gabriella, but he abruptly stopped in his tracks.
He slumped on the bench hopelessly. If he chased her, would it change anything?
On the other side, when Gabriella walked out of the hospital, snow started to fall from the sky. She stood at the door, staring blankly at the dusky sky.
She walked towards the bus stop at a stiff pace. The snow was getting heavier and heavier. She sat alone on the bench at the bus stop. The buses stopped and moved one after another, but she stayed seated there.
A sad song was played by an audio shop beside the road. On such a glum and snowy day, when one would hear such a song, one would be tempted to cry.
She had never truly moved past the death of her baby. Even a slight touch on that wound would make her burst out crying. Today was no exception.
Gabriella hummed along to the tune and sang the word
