Chapter 18
Izaak understood that his wife wanted to be alone, but he couldn’t leave her in the dark, soaking in the rain. He jogged to catch up with her and grabbed her hand.
“Come on, it’s raining.”
Gabriella’s eyes were devoid of any emotion. She was so done with him.
Gabriella ignored him and attempted to walk ahead, but Izaak wrapped his hands around her waist from behind. He rested his chin on the top of her head.
The rain continued pouring, and both of them were already feeling cold.
“Ella, please, let’s go home.”
Gabriella realized there was no use ignoring him. He was persistent, and there was nothing she could do to shoo him away.
Izaak felt relieved when Gabriella slowly walked towards the car. They were drenched, and they soaked the car seats. But that wasn’t important to him.
He recalled that Trevor had left his sweater in his car, so he looked at the passenger seat and was relieved to see it was sitting there.
He grabbed it from the driver’s seat and handed it to Gabriella.
