Este looked at him with pleading eyes when she heard him call her name.
“Let’s say you knew the whole truth. Would you have done the right thing and brought her to justice?”

Words got stuck in Este's throat.
Izaak lit a cigarette and smoked. Rachel’s words about the hazards of smoking rang in his ears. Annoyed, he put the half-consumed cigarette in the crystal ashtray and leaned against the sofa.
“You should leave,” he coldly said. “We’re over.”
Este looked at him quietly as tears rolled down her face. She knelt in front of him.
Izaak loured. “What are you doing?”
He extended a hand, wanting to help her up. Este shook her head stubbornly. Her hands grabbed onto his legs.
“I know my mom was wrong. But she didn’t mean it. It was an accident. Back then, you helped Gabriella get rid of her sin. Can’t you do the same for my mom? Think about the relationship we had built. Please, can you do this for me?”
Izaak did not respond. He took her hand and helped her up. Este wrapped her
