Lianne threw herself toward her grandmother and snuggled inside her arms. “Grandma, I’m not going to cry about those pathetic scum. They are the ones who should be crying.”
“My little Lianne is all grown-up now,” the old lady said while gently patting her back. “Lianne, find an agent to sell off the house for me. We’re going to Rosewood after this and never coming back to this wretched place again.”
“But, Grandma...” Lianne turned up to her. This city was her grandmother’s hometown, and where she made a living. It was her roots!
Selling the house was equivalent to cutting off her only path of retreat…
Marianne gently caressed her. “There’s nothing more important to me than you, Lianne. Home is wherever you are, as far as I’m concerned.”
