"You make a good point," he said with an appeasing smile, though it only earned him a withering look from Emily.
"Spare me the flattery, Mr. Smith. Why don't you stop treating me like the enemy so we can come up with practical solutions together? I'm not as dense as you think," she said curtly before leaving with her phone in hand.
After settling Joshua in the lounge, Jeremy followed Emily. "I'll admit I was worried about you switching sides before, but I changed my mind after Mr. Newman approved of your work ethics and even brought you to the annual general meeting. I hope you'll forgive me for my prejudice."
