Chapter 681
Joshua placed a hand on Queenie's arm. To his surprise, she moved away, albeit only slightly.
This was something that had never happened since they'd met. Even when they'd first gotten married and barely knew each other, she hadn't acted like this. It was a small action, but it still made Joshua's hand freeze in mid-air.
"You don't believe me, do you?" he asked tentatively.
"Of course I do. I believe everything you say." Perhaps the late hour and the drowsiness were finally getting to her now that she'd had her eyes shut for so long. It was getting hard for her to stay awake.
"We can talk about this tomorrow. I'm really sleepy." She couldn't help yawning as she spoke. To prevent Joshua from insisting on an explanation, she turned to lie on her back. "Alright, let's sleep."
It was easy to tell whether a person was genuinely tired. Joshua listened as Queenie's breathing evened out and knew she was truly asleep.
