Mia didn't care, though. She merely chuckled and copied Queenie's words. "I'm just doing what I need to put food on the table."
"Uh-huh." Queenie glanced at her before grabbing another ball of yarn.
"Can you guys do takeout or deliveries? If you can, where should I make the order so that I can get more discounts?" Mia pulled out her phone.
Joanne helped her search for the delivery app and told her where she could order their food and drinks. She bookmarked Annie Station, finished her milkshake, and left.
Queenie watched her leave and hail a cab by the roadside. She said softly, "She wasn't like this in the past."
"Everyone changes—you can't take pity on people like her. Being kind to the wrong person is stupidity and nothing else." Joanne took the cup Mia had drank from and threw it away. "You should stop having anything to do with her in the future."
Joey had told Queenie something similar. Before that day, Queenie had still had some pity for Mia. Now, she no longer felt that.
