Chapter 412
Jeremy had gotten out of the car to break the conversation up with a look from Joshua. He was afraid Queenie and Daniel would chat until the end of time if he didn't stop them.
He looked at Queenie and subtly hinted, "Why are you out here at this hour, Ms. Atkinson? Aren't you afraid of catching a cold again in such weather?"
"How did you know I had a cold?" She hadn't mentioned this to anyone.
"We ordered takeout when you were sick and away from Annie Station. Ms. White was bogged down with work and was almost late when making our delivery. She told us she was alone because you were down with the cold and hoped we wouldn't get upset," Jeremy explained. His logic was infallible.
Queenie had no bones to pick with that. She had indeed just recovered from a cold—the medicine Lydia had prescribed had worked its magic, but Joshua had also had a hand in her recovery…
She blushed at the thought of him, but her cheeks were already red from the wind, so no one noticed.
