Queenie was only partially aware of her surroundings even when she slept. When she groggily opened her eyes, she saw Joshua at the bedside trying to remove her clothes. She wanted to say she could manage on her own, but she was too weak to speak. Joshua, who had never taken care of someone before, was somewhat clumsy when helping Queenie change her clothes. It took him a while and made him sweat slightly as he struggled with the sleeves. Taking care of someone was exhausting, requiring both patience and skill.
