Queenie led Joshua into the shop. Joanne suddenly popped out, looking like a waitress with a white towel draped over her shoulder. She politely greeted Joshua, "Good day, Mr. CEO!" Joanne did it on purpose. She could tell from Joshua's polished look that he was definitely some sort of big shot. She just couldn't figure out why he hadn't mentioned anything to Queenie. But Queenie was naïve, clueless about social subtleties, and was way too shy to ask Joshua about his background. Joanne felt it was her duty as Queenie's best friend to discover the truth about Joshua, even if her naïve friend had accidentally married him. Joshua had seen it all and instantly saw through Joanne's little scheme. Queenie was innocent, and even her friends, though a bit clever, lacked any real street smarts.
