Lucy's POV The healing berries had done more than save Felix's life – they'd transformed him somehow. Power radiated from him in waves, his silver eyes now containing flecks of emerald that caught the cave's dim light. "You're staring," he said, helping me to my feet. "You're different." "Good different or run-away-screaming different?" I touched his face, tracing where the black veins had been. "Just... more. Like whatever was holding you back burned away with the poison." His smile turned wicked. "Speaking of burning..." He pulled me closer. "When we get out of here, I have plans for you." "Felix," I tried to sound stern but couldn't help smiling. "Be serious."
