Chapter 30: Mommy Wants to Run Away with Someone
"Well..." Hannah hesitated.
Cherub's eyes were filled with mist as he said, "It's okay, Mommy. If you don't want to, it's okay. I will be strong."
Hannah suddenly felt like she had done something terribly wrong.
"I'll take you home," Austin offered.
"You can't stay at my house!" Hannah objected.
Austin raised an eyebrow and said, "Okay."
And so, the family of three arrived at Hannah's place. She lived in a small house, modest in size but well-equipped. As Austin entered, a smile appeared on his face, and he immediately sat on the sofa, playing with his son in high spirits.
"What would you like to drink?"
"Just water."
Hannah poured two glasses of water and brought them over. Austin glanced around and then asked, "How long have you been living here?"
"About two years," Hannah replied.
"What were you doing before?" Austin inquired, careful not to offend. "I'm just asking casually. You don't have to answer if you don't want to."
