I only trusted Lisa. "It's all good. I checked out your ultrasound, and the baby's doing great," Lisa said with a beautiful smile. That faint smile of hers was enough to ease all my worries. "Liz, you've got to help me keep this baby safe," I said, feeling nervous and desperate. "I get it. This is your love child with Mr. Howell," Lisa quipped. Chris turned away, but in that split second, I saw a flash of loneliness he couldn't hide. I'd already moved on from my relationship with him. He said he had, too, but it didn't really seem that way. Thanks to Lisa's arrangements, I got to stay in a VIP ward instead of her resting room. The pain in my lower abdomen had eased up, and the bleeding had stopped, which put me somewhat at ease.
