Brandon showed me the recording of Derick's last game, but I wasn't actually there.
"Alright. I'll save the best tickets for you," Derick said with a grin.
"Good luck, Derick," I replied, fist-bumping the screen.
Derick nodded. "Make sure you take care of yourself."
"No worries. I'll grab a bite and go to sleep soon," I said, feeling sleep pulling at my eyelids.
I hadn't slept well the night before but hadn't felt tired all day. Now that the exhaustion was finally hitting me, I was ready to put down my phone and sleep.
"Go on then. Have Brandon whip you up something good," Derick said before hanging up.
I tossed my phone aside and stared at the dark, empty kitchen. I'd love for Brandon to cook something for me, but he'd actually have to show up first. He'd been acting all distant lately. I wondered how long he could keep that up.
