Chapter 461
A heavy thud brought the rolling to an abrupt halt. The world suddenly grew calm, as if life had paused.
It took me a moment to regain my senses and confirm I was still alive. I tried to move, but I couldn't.
So I exerted more effort, and then I heard a muffled groan. "Don't... move."
My world was still dark. I knew this darkness wasn't from nightfall, but because my eyes were still covered.
"Chris," I called out.
"I'm... here." His faint voice came from right in front of me.
"Get off me, I can't move." My immediate reaction was to move away. I didn't notice he was hurt.
Chris shifted, and I could finally turn my face away from his embrace. That was when I saw the deformed car and the motionless, bleeding driver.
Alarmed, I cried out, "Chris! Chris!"
I yelled his name as I looked at him. My eyes grew wide in shock when I saw the blood all over his face.
We were done for. Both Chris and the driver were hurt. I didn't know if I was injured, as I was still pinned under Chris
