CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE – YOGA CLASS

As they rejoined the group, Charlotte found herself the recipient of good-natured ribbing and friendly teasing. She took it all in stride, laughing along with everyone else. For the first time in a long time, she felt truly part of something, connected to the people and the world around her. The rest of the hike passed without incident, though Charlotte found herself the subject of more than a few amused glances and playful jabs. As they made their way back to the resort, Kai pulled her aside. "I have to say, Charlotte," he began, his eyes warm and sincere, "I've never met anyone quite like you. Your spirit, your resilience, your ability to find joy in even the most embarrassing moments... it's inspiring." Charlotte felt a flush of pleasure at his words. "Thank you, Kai," she said softly. "I feel like this island, and the people I've met here, have brought out a side of me I didn't even know existed." Kai smiled, taking her hand in his. "I'm glad to have been a part of that journey
