Richard spun around, his face flushed with anger. "Respect? You barge in here, making wild accusations and throwing a tantrum like a child. How is that respectful?"
Charlotte flinched at his harsh tone but stood her ground. "I'm trying to communicate my feelings, which is more than I can say for you. You've been avoiding this conversation for weeks."
"Because there's nothing to discuss!" Richard shouted, his composure finally cracking. "You're creating problems where there are none. Sabrina is a friend, nothing more. I'm sorry if that threatens you, but that's your issue to deal with, not mine."
Charlotte felt as if she'd been doused in ice water. "My issue? You've been neglecting our relationship, prioritizing another woman over me, and it's my issue?"
Richard threw up his hands in frustration. "Yes, Charlotte, it is. Your insecurity is your problem. I can't be responsible for managing your emotions. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a concert to attend."
