CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT – NERD FIGHTS

The quiz began, and Charlotte found herself relaxing into her role as quizmaster. The teams were engaged, scribbling answers furiously and debating in hushed tones. Tony's "Brain Food" platters were a hit, with several teams ordering seconds. By the third round, Charlotte noticed two teams in particular that seemed to be pulling ahead. One group, calling themselves the "Brainiacs," was a mix of older patrons, including Mrs. Thompson. The other, a younger crowd who had dubbed themselves the "Know-It-Alls," were neck-and-neck with the Brainiacs. As Charlotte announced the scores at the halfway point, she could feel the tension building between these two top teams. The Brainiacs were leading by a single point, with the Know-It-Alls close behind. "It's anybody's game!" Charlotte announced, trying to keep the atmosphere light.
