Chapter 48
Cedric shoved Leroy away in irritation, his face full of disdain.
"Let's go," Scarlett said calmly, though her tone carried an edge of finality. She glanced at Leroy's disheveled appearance, her expression unreadable, before letting out a quiet sigh.
Zoe hurried to Leroy's side, clearly alarmed.
"Leroy, are you okay?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry.
The restaurant manager finally snapped out of his daze and approached them.
"Do you two need any assistance?" he asked, glancing nervously between Leroy and the departing couple.
Leroy shook his head. "We're fine. Let's go," he said, his tone weary.
He nodded at Zoe, signaling her to follow, and the two of them left the restaurant.
Once outside, Zoe huffed in frustration. "Leroy, why did you let him get away with that?" she demanded while clenching her fists. "This was all their fault."
Leroy gave a faint smile but shook his head. "Stopping him would've done more harm than good," he said.
