CHAPTER SIX HUNDRED AND FORTY NINE – THE FINAL BOSS
The old foundry was a hulking shadow against the night sky, its abandoned structures creating a maze of potential hiding spots. Jasmine and Marco moved cautiously, every sense on high alert.
A figure emerged from the shadows, and they tensed, hands moving instinctively towards concealed weapons. But as the person stepped into a shaft of moonlight, Jasmine gasped in recognition.
"Carlos? Carlos Mendoza?"
The man nodded, his once-proud bearing now hunched with fear. "Jasmine, Marco. Thank you for coming. I... I need your help."
Marco's eyes narrowed. "Last I checked, you were one of Don Ricardo's most trusted lieutenants. Why come to us?"
Carlos looked around nervously before speaking. "Because you're the only ones who might be able to stop this madness. I... I've seen things, heard things. The Architect, Phoenix Rising... it's worse than you can imagine."
