CHAPTER SIX HUNDRED AND FORTY THREE – A GHOST FROM THE PAST
Marco stepped forward, his posture relaxed but alert. "Indeed. I appreciate your discretion in this matter, Warden. You have the footage?"
Gutierrez nodded, producing a small flash drive from his pocket. "Everything you asked for. Security footage of Elena Vasquez's cell for the past month, including the day she supposedly visited Don Ricardo."
As Marco reached for the drive, Jasmine noticed a flicker of movement in her peripheral vision. Years of living in the cartel world had honed her instincts, and those instincts were screaming danger.
"Marco, wait!" she cried, but it was too late.
The warehouse erupted into chaos. The warden's guards drew their weapons, but Marco's team was faster. Gunfire echoed off the metal walls as both sides took cover.
In the confusion, Jasmine saw the warden slip away, the flash drive still clutched in his hand. Without thinking, she gave chase, dodging bullets and leaping over crates.
She cornered Gutierrez behind a stack of pallets, her own weapon
