CHAPTER FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY EIGHT – STAY VIGILANT
As they filled Jasmine in on their suspicions and their botched investigation, her expression cycled through shock, anger, and finally, determination.
"I can't believe you kept this from me," she said, her voice tight. "We're supposed to be partners in this, Marco. All of us."
Marco hung his head. "You're right. We should have told you from the beginning."
Don Cesaro cleared his throat. "The question now is, where do we go from here?"
Jasmine straightened her shoulders. "We come clean to the staff. All of this suspicion and secrecy is tearing us apart. If there really is a mole, our best chance of exposing them is by presenting a united front."
Marco and Don Cesaro nodded in agreement. It was time to face the music.
The next morning, before the Bistro opened, Jasmine, Marco, and Don Cesaro gathered the entire staff.
"We owe you all an explanation," Jasmine began. She went on to explain the anonymous tip, their suspicions, and the misguided attempts to uncover the truth.
